Services

Everything a journal needs, delivered as one service.

Four services that work together on one platform. Start with the one your journal needs most and add the others as the journal grows.

Assessment

Journal assessment

A rigorous, independent review of how your journal is run: its editorial policies, its processes, its published content and its presence online. You receive a clear, written picture of the journal and a prioritised plan of what to address first.

  • Covers the whole journal, not just individual articles
  • Written for editors and boards, in plain language
  • Repeatable, so progress can be measured over time
  • Delivered as a written report and a working plan your board can act on
Workflow

Editorial management platform

Manage the full editorial process in one place: manuscript submission, screening, peer review, decisions, revisions and production. Every role works from a clear view, and nothing is lost between emails.

  • Dedicated workspaces for authors, reviewers and editors
  • Peer review with deadlines, reminders and a complete record
  • Issues, archives and the public journal site, kept in step
  • A manuscript editor, reference tools and version history for authors
Advisory

Visibility and indexation advisory

Guidance for journals that want to be more widely read, cited and recognised. We help your team understand what matters, in what order, and how to get there, with every decision remaining yours.

  • A prioritised, realistic plan for your journal
  • Regular reviews of progress with your editorial team
  • Support with policies, ethics statements and documentation
  • Guidance on editorial board composition, scope and publishing practice
Production

Production and publishing support

From accepted manuscript to a published, citable article: structured formats, persistent identifiers, complete metadata and a clean public presence for the journal and everything it publishes.

  • Publication-ready formats and metadata
  • Persistent identifiers for every article
  • A public journal site that is fast, clear and easy to find
  • Export of everything you publish, in standard formats, at any time

Questions we are often asked

Does Editara replace our editorial judgement?

No. Editara organises the work, keeps the record and points out what deserves attention. Every decision about a manuscript, a reviewer or the journal itself is made by your editors and your board.

Do we have to move everything at once?

No. Many journals begin with an assessment, or with peer review for new submissions, and bring the rest across when the team is ready. Existing content and archives can be imported at any stage.

Is our content locked in?

No. Everything you publish and everything your team records can be exported in standard formats at any time. Your journal remains yours.

Does Editara use artificial intelligence?

Yes, where it helps: to organise, to check and to point out what needs a closer look. It assists the editorial process and never decides for it. Manuscripts and reviews are never used to train any system.

How is Editara priced?

Per journal or per portfolio, agreed after the first conversation, so that the arrangement fits the size and stage of the journal. There are no surprises later.

Not sure where to begin?

Most journals start with an assessment. From there, we recommend only what will help.
